Summary/Abstract: I would address the main issue of the minority differently were I not born a Yugoslav Hungarian in the middle of the 20th century. The heritage of the native language is invaluable and it is naturally complemented by the multi-natural Vojvodinian cultural experience, as well as the one acquired in the exuberant Yugoslavian environment. The historical period spanning up to 1989 was not characterized by a harmonious relationship for my generation. The culture of Hungarians in Hungary and other countries belonged to various European interest groups and ideologies. The Western diaspora, the minority literature of Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia, received many impulses from its foreign or multilingual environment, while the Romanian did perhaps less so. However, there was a possibility of unifying the multiple cultural practices for all minorities and diaspora, regardless whether they operated in the context of central or peripheral languages. The paper focuses on the variants of multiple attachments.
