Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the psychological aspects portrayed in the 2021 film The Woman in the Window, from the characters’ mental issues and interactions to the language specific to the fields of psychology-psychiatry. The interesting elements, which also justify this endeavor from the psychological lens, are that the protagonist carries and manifests a double perspective, of the specialist (being a child psychologist herself) and of the patient, and that all the central characters struggle with more or less serious mental issues. The sections are centered on: a preamble showing the way in which the beginning of the production pushes us towards psychology, drawing attention to it and subtly announcing it as a centerfold factor and a suitable interpretative key; synthesizing Anna and the others’ mental problems; mind games/manipulative interactions; relevant vocabulary and how word choice influences perception – ours and the characters’. The Conclusions emphasize the pertinence and logical popularity of the film in contemporary crisis times and how language both draws meaning from and builds context.
