New technologies and the ecoinfosphere threats

Summary/Abstract: New technologies create a working environment. It is also the information environment – information and the information process. The aim of the article is an attempt to identify threats to the eco‑infosphere and to assess the information competences of participants in the organizational information environment. The thesis has been adopted, according to which the threats to the eco‑infosphere have a significant impact on the quality of work and the effectiveness of achieving the goals of organisation, and information competences allow to minimize these threats. The text is based on the knowledge derived from the literature and the author’s research. The studies using the method of critical analysis of literature used selected literature sources from the fields of management and information science, including the ecology of information, medicine, sociology and psychology, and own empirical research conducted using qualitative methods, including desk research, case studies and expert methods. In the author’s opinion, an important skill is information competences allowing to counteract threats to the eco‑infosphere. This affects the effectiveness of resource involvement in the processes of achieving the goals set by social economy enterprises – first of all, meeting the needs of information recipients.
