Summary/Abstract: This 1999 case was decided under the Lithuanian (Soviet) civil code promulgated in 1964. The case concerns the question of whether the parties intended merely to enter into a preliminary agreement or into a principal contract, and it also illustrates that an agreement which must be affirmed before a notary in order to be valid, but was not so affirmed, can nevertheless found to be valid.
