Summary/Abstract: This article outlines the development of accounting information systems in its successive stages from fragmentary systems to integrated systems. Special attention has been paid to ERP systems and systems supporting decision-making. The article also traces the impact of information - communication technology on the process of globalisation of the accounting information system.
