Summary/Abstract: There is an ongoing complex and multidimensional process of transition in the countries of Eastern Europe, а process of transformation of the society relations aimed towards market economy, political cultural and ideological pluralism аѕ well аѕ parliamentary democracy. Accordingly there is а process of spiritual transformation that includes the religion. In the new conditions the church emerges from the margins of the society where it has been placed by socialism and it starts locating its place and role in the new democratic society relations and processes. ln it, the church faces а rather ruined spiritual and material social ambient that furtherly compounds its activity. Аѕ first, in the sphere of the mind , the church faces three approaches toward the question of religious feeling (defined atheist mind, hesitating religious mind and а defined religious mind) and аѕ second, in the process of transition, the church can determine and position itself in the following directions: to be active, to be passive or to be neutral.
