Summary/Abstract: Contemporary theatre faces new challenges, and one of them comes from the interaction between its own substance and the universe of digital technology. Actually, similar interferences have been part of the theatrical reality for decades, but now they seem to be more present than never. Dealing with this theme, one has to understand the background of the changes and developments occurring in the theatre. The digital theatricality implies a different way of understanding the very core of performance, which could be defined as hic et nunc. The actors and the audience find themselves together in an exciting journey, trying to push the limits of connectivity, presence, virtuality, intermediality, and emotion.
