Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims to analyse the complex views of feminism evinced in two works belonging to radical feminist critic Andrea Long Chu, a prominent figure in the field of trans criticism, and Valerie Solanas, the playwright-reject more famous for shooting Andy Warhol than for her shocking, but brilliant play Up Your Ass, a precursor to her SCUM Manifesto and to a great deal of radical feminist writing. Chu confesses in the opening of her most recent volume Females (2019) that her criticism was largely inspired by what she considers to be Solanas’ genius. Thus, our analytic endeavour is meant to shed light on the way Females and Up Your Ass are simultaneously alike and quite different from each other in their portrayal of feminism, women, men, and the general hatred and contempt both woman writers seem to harbour for all of the above.
