Wiesław Myśliwski’s creation in statu nascendi

Summary/Abstract: The article presents Wiesław Myśliwski’s creative process. It is focusing especially on two aspects of the writer’s work. First of them Myśliwski calls “fruitful helplessness” (“bezradność owocująca”), it is a state which occurring immediately before writing. Another one I describe as “first sentence theory” – this term I created basing on the writer’s statements from the interviews. The article contains analysis of Wiesław Myśliwski’s novel’s first sentences. I point out the possibility to compare “fruitful helplessness” with other similar conceptions of creative process, incl. Emil Cioran’s or Sandor Marai’s.
