Summary/Abstract: In 2016, after the entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2015/2424, the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) changed its name to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). By the entry into force of this Regulation, the Community trade mark changed the name to the trade mark of the European Union. Adoption of Regulation (EU) 2017/1001 of 14. June 2017. Regulation (EC) 207/2009 and Regulation 2015/2424 have been put into effect and the new Regulation regulates the substance of the European Union trade mark and the functioning of the European Union Intellectual Property Office. Council Regulation (EC) No 6/2002 of 12 December 2001 on Community designs is still in force and regulates the design of the EU.In this paper, the author analyzes the provisions of the new Regulation (EU) 2017/1001 which regulates the work of the European Union Intellectual Property Office as an agency of the European Union.
