Tribute to the Romanian scientist Dragomir Hurmuzescu.

Summary/Abstract: Dragomir Hurmuzescu was an outstanding scientist and inventor, researcher, physicist, professor, reformer. As a teacher and school organizer he contributed to the cultural development of our country. A pioneer in experimental higher education, he managed to include a practical orientation in education in order to meet the needs imposed by the economic and social evolution of the country. He is considered the founder of the Romanian electrical engineering education and the initiator of the first broadcasting station in our country, a great personality of Romanian science and technology, with important contributions in electricity, chemistry, thermodynamics, optics or physics. This article is a tribute to the Romanian scientist, on the 157th anniversary of his birth.
