Summary/Abstract: The basic concepts used by the actor are: the problem, the purpose and the theme. Together they form a coherent system that we have called an inner constellation. We defined the problem as the unchanging component of every role. The purpose must always follow the equation: I want to make x feel y. A common mistake is to formulate the purpose in the equation: I want to feel y. The themes are decisions to act in a certain way towards achieving our purpose and they must be formulated as verbs that signify an emotional action in relation to another character.
