Summary/Abstract: Places with signs of the past have been preserved in the cultural landscape of Warmia. According to the findings of Elżbieta Rybicka, objects, material traces and practices of a commemorative nature can be discovered in the landscape of a given area. Such a place saturated with the memory of the past is Bartąg near Olsztyn. Its history has been recorded in Polish and German literature. The aim of the article is to review the literary representation devoted to the Warmian village of Bartąg.
