Summary/Abstract: By way of introduction, this article touches upon Igor Severianin’s place in the history of Russian avant-garde, futurism, and ego-futurism. The article focuses then on the evolution and significance of the nature theme in Severianin’s poems, highlighting the most important motifs (especially the ones connected with water) and their changes in Russian poet’s creation, from the very beginning to the „Estonian exile”.
