Summary/Abstract: The article deals with negative impersonal constructions that are important from the point of view of the syntactic organization of the poetic text and play a significant role in the system of the Russian language. The author offers a brief digression into the history of the study of impersonal sentences with particular focus on the significant role of M. I. Pigin in the analysis of negative impersonal sentences. The poetic texts of Mikhail Lomonosov are analyzed for the presence of impersonal negative constructions with the use of The Syntactic Dictionary of Russian Poetry of the XVIII Century. The relevance of the study is due to the lack of knowledge of the relationship between syntactic structures and the poetic language of the eighteen-century poetic contexts. The conclusions concern the structural and typological, semantic, and rhetorical diversity of those Lomonosov’s poetic contexts that include negative impersonal constructions. The obtained results can be used in linguo-poetic comparative studies aimed at investigating the poetic syntax and rhetorical devices of Lomonosov’s predecessors, contemporaries, and followers.
