Summary/Abstract: Being non-compulsory and provided in a specialist institution, 21st century tertiary education faces a significant gap between students and their teachers in terms of media and digital literacy (digital natives vs. digital immigrants). The question is whether these differences can be overcome, but it definitely depends on the institution's profile. Since the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek is an institution of higher education that is, in many respects, quite unique within and outside the borders of the Republic of Croatia that offers study programs and grants degrees in art, social sciences, humanities, and interdisciplinary fields of science and art, its teachers are competent to implement new technologies in their courses. At the Department of Culture, Media and Management informational, media and digital literacy are integrated into the courses. English for Academic Purposes / English for Specific Purposes (EAP/ESP) included in the study programs of the said Department can be described by Gillett's (2004) words as the language and associated skills that students need to undertake during studies in higher education through the medium of English. After a detailed presentation on the theoretical approach towards Internet safety, media, informational and digital literacy as well as digital natives and digital immigrants, the Academy's dedication to the promotion of the aforementioned values along with information on their implementation in numerous courses is illustrated, with a special emphasis on EAP.
