Summary/Abstract: A foray into the manuscript collections of the “I. G. Sbiera” Bukovina Library from Suceava brought to light two manuscripts that have not been published with references to the National Celebration in Putna in 1871, and some correspondence pages between some personalities of cultural life. The topic is treated extensively by Dr. Ion Negură, in a manuscript from 1981, and tangentially to the establishment of the company “Arboroasa” by Prof. Pintea Socaciu and Prof. Reveca Dușceac-Prelipceanu. Ion Negură’s manuscript work refers to aspects related to the history of Bukovina, academic societies, a rich correspondence with Nicodim Ițcuș and has not been capitalized until today. Probably the manuscript about this event from the life of the Romanian Youth (“junime”) was prepared for publication, but it does not appear mentioned in other subsequent studies regarding the Great feast of Putna. The second mentioned manuscript refers to the “Arboroasa” Academic Society (1875–1938), for the establishment of which the Putna Celebration was the engine, through the decision of the Student Congress to establish societies in all university centres.
