Summary/Abstract: Article from - Revista de drept comercial și studii economice, vol. VI – 1939 The need for insurance comes from the awareness that each of us has towards the various responsibilities that press upon us and from the uncertainty of tomorrow. An insurance contract can cover us from some of these risks, which find their origin in the play of the elements of nature, in the action or human inaction or social organization. Realization of the risk translates into a direct material damage - a loss of the victim's property or their value - through new tasks imposed on him or his deprivation of earnings that he could have had within the limits of a rational provision. This is why insurance plays an extremely important economic and social role in modern life.
