Summary/Abstract: Caius Lepa’s substantial contribution for the Romanian and European ethnomusicology is a theme of present interest. His prodigious doctorate, „Die Musikinstrumente der Südamerikanischen Indianer. Eine kulturhistorischen Untersuchung” - University of Viena, 1934 (unpublished manuscript), brings originality in the scientific fields of ethnology, organology, musical anthropology. The name „Caius Lepa”, his European spirit and his multidisciplinary researches have important potential for a future Romanian scientific brand.
