The Lviv Period of Vasyl Simovych’s Creativity

Summary/Abstract: Vasyl Simovych was a full member of the National Association of Taras Shevchenko, professor and rector of the Ukrainian Higher Pedagogical Institute in Prague, head of the Ukrainian language department and dean of the philological faculty of Lviv University (1939- 1941). The article discusses the scientific and organisational, publishing, cultural and educational activities of Vasyl Simovych in Lviv and Prague. His influence is shown not only in the context of the scientific, social and public life of Lviv but also of Galicia.
