Summary/Abstract: We are fighting for democracy and the rule of law, but we try to reduce the negative impact and problems that gender inequalities create. Is a democracy where women are equal to men only in words sustainable? If in the private sector women hold increasingly more functions, in the public sector women are a minority, especially when referring to public management functions. What is the cause of this limitation? Domestic legislative regulations impose gender equality which serves only a declaratory role and doesn’t actually provide the framework for true equality in the social reality. Moreover, often women are the ones that fail to pursue access to public office or a public dignity, considering that these functions are reserved for men. How much do we really care about gender equality? „Constituting Equality addresses the question, how would you write a constitution if you really cared about gender equality”?
