Summary/Abstract: In 2011–2012, the Museum in Racibórz carried out maintenance works of two religious paintings Słodkie Serce Jezusa (Eng: Sweet Heart of Jesus) MR-E in 1313 and Matka Boska Królowa Korony Polskiej (Eng: Our Lady Queen of the Polish Crown) KMP-E 125 and the color oil print Matka Boska z Dzieciątkiem (Eng: Madonna and Child) with the MR-E 1397 from the late nineteenth or the early twentieth century. These are interesting examples of preservation of objects consisted of many types of materials, but still dominated by paper – more precisely perforated cardboard, paper for printing. Additionally, the art technique of discussed exhibits include the use of dried plants, wool and velvet threads, metal springs, fabric, gold-plated ornaments made of pressed cardboard. The conservation works were carried out by Katarzyna Wawrzyniak-Łukaszewicz. The restoration process included disinfection of the objects, surface cleaning of dirt and dust, gluing cracks and reconstruction of the missing pieces. For each object passe-partout and special boxes of acid-free material were made to protect all the protruding elements of the paintings.
