Summary/Abstract: In romanian culture, music education has two branches: specialized education (music theory and instrument playing – in vocational schools and superior institutions) and general education, taught in other schools than vocational ones. The purpose of teaching music in any kind of school is to form and develop the aesthetic sense, which has a big contribution in human development. In the next pages, we will show that music manuals in Romania have a serie of songs which are performed in the church during the mass and how can they relate with the requirements of teaching general music, not the specialized one. The article purpose is to integrate multiple exercises about the intonation, music notes, dynamics, rhythm or music theory in songs that are played or have a connection with the church.
