Summary/Abstract: Gabriel Woynilłowicz came from a middle-class Ruthenian noble family residing inthe Nowogródek province. There are no records on his activities prior to 1648. At the beginning of 1648, he was a Kaniów colonel of registered Cossacks and was taken prisoner by Tartars during the battle of Żółte Wody (Zhovti Vody) in 1651. Since 1651, he took part in all wars waged by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, first in the service of Jeremi Wiśniowiecki, then as a leader of hetman’s and royal hussar regiments. He was probably killed in a battle or died from wounds during the campaign in the Left-bank Ukraine (on the left bank of the Dnipro River) in the first half of 1664. His last will, cited in fragments by Władysław Łoziński and Władysław Czapliński, has not been found. The heirs of GabrielWoyniłłowicz were: his widow Anna (née Bierecka, later Służewska), daughter Anna (later Choińska) and son Kazimierz. A posthumous movable property inventory left by the deceased Gabriel Woyniłłowicz was prepared during the division of inheritance andentered into the Przemyśl town books on October 7, 1665.
