Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the struggle of the activists of the Polish-Czech-Slovak Solidarity Association for opening the interstate borders at the beginning of the 1990s. The association originated from an opposition organization Polish-Czech Solidarity (PCS), which engaged Poles, Czechs and Slovaks in joint anti-communist activity during the whole 1980s, both on Polish and Czechoslovak territory. At the beginning of the 1990s, the Polish-Czechoslovak border was tight and closely guarded, like in 1980s, and the border traffic was limited. Local activities undertaken by the PCS regarding the insufficient number of border crossings attracted the attention of authorities on the state level and had an influence on real changes in the borderland.
