Summary/Abstract: The category of everyday life provides opportunities for an extremely broad and interdisciplinary view of the socio-cultural reality of specific individuals as a narrative of culturally conditioned personal experience. This paper aims to show what sphere of symbols the inhabitants of Malnia lived in, what cultural influences affected their everyday life and how they might have experienced it. The village can be seen as a multilingual space of cultural communication, where Polish and German national influences intermingled without generating sharp antagonisms, religiousness was an important element of the languageof daily life, while diversified work and responsibilities set the pace of everyday life for the whole village. An attempt was made to look at the dress code, culinary habits and daily rituals as a series of identity-forming practices.
