Summary/Abstract: The culminating point of the annual celebration of the Holy Week, filled with diverse biblical contents commemorating the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is Easter Sunday. The festive celebration in the Roman-Catholic Church in Poland commences with the resurrection liturgy and procession with the Holy Sacrament and figure of Christ arisen. Next the faithful go home to have breakfast and eat food blessed on Holy Saturday. During the meal, religion clearly mingles with secular threads, magic practices, wishes aimed at auspiciousness, good health and happy marriage. We can see that every other hour of celebration brings more mundane problems and practices, which are to provide joy and wealth here and now, in place of Easter message announcing victory over death and giving hope to resurrection. Unfortunately it suggests a superficial treatment and poor understanding of religious contents brought by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, as well as a need to perform increased pastoral work whose purpose is to teach the faithful on the Bible and meaning of Easter.
