Summary/Abstract: After the occupation of the Polish lands by the Third Reich in 1939, the implementation of the German administration began. This also concerned the organization dealing with the promotion of tourism (Reichsfremdenverkehrsverband). The territories incorporated into the Reich came partly to the borders of the local tourist associations already existing in Silesia and East Prussia (Landesfremdenverkehrsverbände), and partly to the new created structures for Greater Poland and Pomerania. The analysis of collected archives does not reveal any specific tourism policy of the Third Reich for the former Polish lands. More information is provided by the press and publications, in which the incorporated territories were shown as perennially German and connected with Germanic culture. The Polish lands did not play a particularly important role in German tourism policy due to their small significance for the industry on a national scale, especially during the war. The discussed issue, however, shows an interesting and unexplored section of the occupant’s activity in the field of propaganda.
