Summary/Abstract: One of the most pressing discussions of recent times in the national philosophy concerns the relationship of the concepts of “universal” (vsechelovecheskoye) and “common human” (obshechelovecheskoye). It is connected with the release in 2019 of A. V. Smirnov’s monograph “The All-Human vs. the Generally-Human [Vsechelovecheskoye vs. obshechelovecheskoye]”. From all the richness of ideas of this book , a key problem of how to properly understand the meaning of “all-human” in the context of the history of Russian philosophy is chosen for conversation with undergraduates. The issue of the search for Russian ethno-national identity in the context of ideas about different cultural logics is discussed.
