Summary/Abstract: Self-reflection means reflection on one's own practice, as well as critical reflection on one's activities, and ways to improve one's own practice.It is the path to more successful teaching work, greater job satisfaction, and continuous progress. A reflective teacher is a researcher of his practice who is ready to change his own behavior and understand practical problems with the aim of professional development and improving the quality of teaching. Teachers with pronounced self reflection are characterized by the need for permanent self-improvement, as well as the improvement of their own practice, wider and narrower social community, and the school where they are employed. The paper defines the concept of reflective practice and the concept of a reflective teacher. There are some of the models of reflective practice listed in the paper, as well as the competencies of a reflective teacher. Furthermore, the teacher reflection is presented in this paper as an opportunity for professional development and lifelong learning of teachers. (Self) reflection has a significant impact on the professional development of teachers, because through it the teacher improves his practice with the knowledge of what needs to be advanced,improved, changed, improved.
