Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to discuss the concept of the supply chain using a modelapproach, while taking into account the armed conflict in Ukraine. It has been shownthat the standard model allows for the analysis of supply chains in terms of theapplication of disaster recovery strategies. It breaks them down into 2 types based onprobabilities established in the past. The paper briefly presents the conflict in Ukraineand its possible negative impact on the world's economies. In the case of the presentedmodel approach, appropriate modifications must be taken into account in order to applythe selected strategy that allows to increase the level of operational efficiency ofenterprises. Such an assumption will allow links in the supply chain to function moreeffectively. Thanks to the proposed modifications, these cells will be able to hedgeagainst an increase in the level of costs, as well as against price and wage volatility. Theconsiderations carried out in the work may constitute the basis for separate empiricalresearch, if military operations in Ukraine would last, for example, a year. Such a periodis necessary for the construction of appropriate assumptions used in specific simulationanalyzes.
