Infographic. A multimodal information relay in the academic community

Summary/Abstract: Infographics have become more and more popular. The benefits of using them are also noticed in the academic community. The academic staff eagerly use infographics on a social networking platform such as Facebook, primarily to communicate with their students about current issues, but also to encourage potential candidates to apply. Such an approach to the prevailing trends seems reasonable, because young people currently studying, grew up in the era of digitalization and technological breakthrough, seek and expect information to be provided in a known way, i.e. primarily via the Internet. The aim of this article is to show how academic staff of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn communicate with their students and/or potential candidates by means of infographics and what their goals are.
