Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to typography in web design. It presents a definition approach, paying attention to the traditional understanding of this concept, as well as its understanding in relation to the digital environment. Its importance in online design was emphasized, paying particular attention to the specific features of typography in relation to web design. In the second part of the text, the author presented the results of typography research on four social networks: Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, and YouTube. The method of automated procedures using the Wayback Machine service and browser add-ons: WhatFont, Measure, and ColorZilla was used for the tests. The second method is the expert method using a list of original research criteria. They were used to determine changes occurring in the surveyed websites over time in terms of typographic elements. However, no time relationships were found that would indicate consistent design trends in this area.
