Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to answer the three questions: How to raise children in the context of the re-evangelization of Europe? What characterizes narrative pedagogy? How to bring up children into beautiful, joyful love in the modern world? Contemporary education at home and at school does not involve the exercise of will and feelings (intellect is vital), while these qualities should be integrally acquired through persistence in taking all the effortsand shaping one’s character. The process of secularization and globalization leads to limiting faith and love to an internal, private sphere and offers lay morality contradicting the revealed religion. In this vision of upbringing, the Church and the traditional Catholic pedagogy are seen as institutions promoting specific prejudices and interfering in a man’s freedom. What is needed is education that teaches critical thinking and proposes a process of value-driven maturation. One of the values is „joy [and beauty] of love” since only this love „can find the way and is a compass which shows it” (see: Amoris laetitia 1.126 – 130.291). Catholic pedagogy teaches such love and wants to lead everyone to it.
