Summary/Abstract: The author of the article presents the thought by an outstanding modern German philosopher of phenomenological orientation on the immortality of soul – Dietrich von Hildebrand. Stressing that the thought is in harmony with the classicist tradition of Plato, Aristotle and Aquinas, simultaneously points to its original character. It is shown in the philosopher’s argumentation, who demonstrates the immortality of soul from two perspectives – the first – from the transcendence of human shown in personal activity (in his spiritual acts) and the other – from the existence of personal God. The originality of Hildebrand’s shows closer in the context of comparison with Aquinas’ standpoint.
