Summary/Abstract: The coronavirus disease pandemic 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute coronavirus 2 syndrome (SARS-CoV-2), has spread rapidly globally. New mutations have emerged that are more contagious, although not more lethal to patients. Our country is on the verge of a new wave of coronavirus infection at the end of the summer of 2021. The purpose of this article is to share the efforts of the professional pharmaceutical organization in the United States (AphA) to amend federal legislation to recognize the pharmacist as an integral part of the health team, to inform pharmacists in our country about the decision of the US Department of Health and Human Services to involve pharmacists in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as for the specific interventions of pharmacists from pharmacies in the United States to participate in the traditional immunization of children and the current vaccination of the American population against COVID-19, secrecy for/or conduct PSR tests in pharmacies to detect SARS-CoV-2 infection, which can serve as a model for Bulgarian Union of Pharmacists in our country.
