Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to investigate the legal status of local policeman, as covered by Law no. 155/2010. From the laws’ provisions does not result, in a clear way, the professional category in which is likely to be framed the local policeman. There can be considered two possible solutions: that the local policeman is employee, which means that its legal status is established by labor legislation or, on the contrary, he is a civil servant, in which case its legal status is represented by labor legislation. In our opinion, the local policeman must be a public servant and it is necessary to adopt a special law regulating in the future, the legal status of this professional category.
