Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the this study is to present the results from the approbation of the Vancouver Obsessional Compulsive Inventory [VOCI] in a nonclinical adolescent sample – assessment of the factorial structure, as well as analysis of its correlation with other constructs, included in this study. The data, derived from answers of 852 adolescent (13–19 year old), give us basis for a partial correction in the original factorial structure. The results confirm the reliability (level of internal consistency) of the general index and the components of the questionnaire. Its validity is assessed by linking it with a large group of self-describing scales: Obsessive–Compulsive Inventory–Short Version-R [OCI-R], Penn State Worry Questionnaire [PSWQ], White Bear Suppression Inventory [WBSI], Obsessive Beliefs Questionnaire [OBQ], The Center for Epidemiologic Studies – Depression Scale [CES-D]. The obtained results permit the positive assessment of the VOCI as a useful contemporary tool for assessing the obsessive-compulsive disorders in youth age.
