Summary/Abstract: Scientific notions about the influence of the psychological factors on etiology and course of somatic diseases confine within certain limits psychosomatic medicine. Along with the development of psychophysiology and psychodynamic ideas of how symptoms form, the group of the so called “psychosomatic diseases” has been formed. The question concerning the difference between “somatic” and “psychosomatic” remains actual as well as the question whether oncological diseases could be seen in that light. The debate on the influence of different psychological factors during pathogenesis and progress of oncological diseases underlie many research studies, different hypotheses and contradictions.
