Summary/Abstract: Hudzik proposes a philosophical theory of the media through a discussion of globalplague literature. He begins by asking why the characters of The Decameron tell eachother banal stories, then he treats narrative as a medium and distinguishes metaphysicsfrom ontology of narrative, based on (modern) subjects using practical wisdom. Finally,he analyses the literary representations of the telegraph (Camus, Dumas). What do theycontribute to our understanding of the media?
