Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes twenty-first-century graphic interpretations of canonical Polishtexts for children. The analysis covers three anthologies of poetry by Julian Tuwim, JanBrzechwa, and Ludwik Jerzy Kern published by Wytwórnia. These publications cannot bedescribed in traditional categories of illustration as they intertwine letters, words, andimages in many unobvious ways. Wincencjusz-Patyna focuses on projects by femaleartists of the young generation artists: Małgorzata Gurowska, Monika Hanulak, MartaIgnerska, Agnieszka Kucharska-Zajkowska, Anna Niemierko, Gosia Urbańska-Macias,Justyna Wróblewska (Tuwim and Kern); and the middle generation: Maciej Buszewicz,Grażka Lange, Lech Majewski, and Piotr Młodożeniec (Brzechwa). The artists use collagewith elements of photomontage, they emphasize the possibilities and specificity ofdigital graphics, they also engage in dialog with masters of older generations.
