Postmemory and Poems as the Corpus Delicti of Thoughtcrime: Some Remarks on the Framing of the Holocaust

Summary/Abstract: Kolarzowa scrutinizes the relations between postmemory, creative work, and Holocausttestimonies and their types by focusing on how far such relations can be framed andwhat can be the aim of their rationing. The example in this case study is the receptionof Grzegorz Kwiatkowski’s poetry; the readers used the creative output as a pretextto sociopsychologically analyze the artist. Kolarzowa seeks to demonstrate how thispractice corresponds to previously known ways of creating a politics of memory andinterprets it as an effort to radicalize that politics.
