Summary/Abstract: Tomasz Mizerkiewicz’s book Niewspółczesność. Doświadczenie temporalne w polskiejliteraturze najnowszej (Non-Contemporaneity: Temporal Experience in Latest PolishLiterature) encourages reflection on various modes of experiencing time and their literaryrepresentations. The article seeks to organize such issues as the synchronicity of diversephenomena, disturbing anachronisms, the relationship between historical time andcommunal/individual identity narratives, illusions of the post-historical era, and turn-ofthe-century presentism. Moreover, what the article scruntinizes are asynchrony, culturalresistance, and the subversive potential typical for literature.
