Summary/Abstract: Church doors are one of many symbolic elements of the church body. In the Old Testament it developed eschatological significance that have taken the gate, understood as the gates of hell. In this sense the church gate appear in the iconography of the Court of God. This symbolism was taken over by Christianity. Allegorical and symbolic significance of the church doors was lined in the writings of the apologists of the faith and the Church Fathers.
