UNPUBLISHED DOCUMENTS ON SHORPIL BROTHERS’ LIVES AND PUBLIC ACTIVITIES

Summary/Abstract: This article presents four unpublished documents related to the lives and social activities of the famous archaeologists and public figures Karel and Hermin Shkorpil. The documents were provided for publication to the author by R. Manov, a historian, collector and donator. The first document is related to the election of Karel Shkorpil as an honorary member of the Madaras` Archaeological Society. The second is related to the organization of excavations in the old capital Preslav, and the third - to the visit of a famous German scientist to Bulgaria. The fourth document provides information about the professional and personal lives of the two brothers, presented in an abridged form. Photographs from the archive are attached as indexes to the article.
