Summary/Abstract: Victory Day has become the main secular holidayin Vladimir Putin’s Russia. It is also an occasion for thegovernment to showcase Russia’s military might and rally peoplearound the flag. This year, the authorities used the celebrationto bolster public support for the war in Ukraine, which theydescribed as a necessary measure designed to “denazify” thecountry and prevent an imminent attack on Russian soil.
