Summary/Abstract: In three decades following the end of Second World War, Italian Communist Party managed ot achieve and retain the possition of second most popular party in Italy, the most politicaly powerfull party of Italian opposition, and, acording to many contemporary anlysts, the unprescedented influence on the Italian society, that hasn`t been rivaled by any other political party in Italian history. At the same time, adoption of the new party ideology of Italian communist became the role model for the historical evolution of party ideologies of all other Marxist parties in the Mediterranean, witch, coupled with the process of ever increasing prestigne of Italian party among the European Marxists, made Italian Communist Party one of the most globaly influencial parties in both the ,,socialist world“ and in the countries of Western Pact. This paper strives to summarize the social and political circumstances that led to the rapid rise of domestic and international influence of Italian Communist Party. In order to provide explanations to only few of the many factors that influenced the development of complex social and historical phenomenon that contributed to the previously stated outcome of many efforts made by Italian communists to increase their prestige abroad and their social status in Italy, this article will use contemporary historical sources as well as later studies from the fields of history, sociology and Marxist literature.
