Summary/Abstract: We have all heard about the Trianon trauma, the Hungarian officials and government have lately been particularly busy at advertising this concept. But what they have also been doing, as this research shows, and fewer may have noticed, is being busy at traumatizing the Hungarian society with the concept of the Trianon Trauma. Just like their interwar elites did, from 1920 to 1940, with tangible personal interests at stake, who spread the concept of Trianon Trauma as a cover up for their mistakes, superiority complex and as a means to keep their privileges in the afterwar Hungarian society. The suffering induced by the trauma is real, we should make no mistake about that, but the trauma itself is induced by the Hungarian elites themselves, and not by actual historical events, as Hungarian researchers notice and argue below. With dramatic consequences on regular Hungarian people.
