Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to describe an instructional lesson focused on applying a creative approach to narratives (realised with a group of students of primary education teaching program), and, based on the content analysis of resulting products and student’s self-reflections, to point out at the didactic potential of a creative approach to narrative didactic transformation. In the first part we formulate a theoretical basis for the concepts of the didactics of literature, narrator, and narrative transformation. In the second part, we describe the instructional lesson focused on the transformation of narrator through creative writing and subsequent content analysis of the products – transformed texts. From the students’ answers, it is evident that they originally had not realised the category of narrator. The analysis of student’s products is indicative of the fact that they were able to apply narrative perspectives on multiple levels in narrative transformation, but further work with detailed reflection is necessary; the peer response, which helps them improve the original text, and with assessment criteria. It proved to be difficult for the students to utilise a creative approach and imagination to narrative transformation.
