Summary/Abstract: The second half of the 14th century was a time of debates and postulates for the renewal of the Catholic Church. n this historical context, the main theological work of Johannes Marienwerder’s (1343 – 1417), "Expositio Symboli Apostolorum", was written. John of Kwidzyn is considered an outstanding representative of theologians associated with the University of Prague. The article deals with the unity of the Church according to Expositio. Johannes Marienwerder points out that the unity of the Church results from its relationship with Christ, from the sacrament of baptism and from Christian love.
